VW Is In Trouble In China — But America May Be Even Worse
Volkswagen is struggling badly in China as buyers switch to cheaper, more advanced local EVs from companies like BYD, causing VW’s China sales to fall 15% in Q1 2026. But America may be an even bigger problem: VW’s U.S. sales plunged more than 20%, EV demand collapsed after tax credits ended, and the company is already shutting down ID.4 production in Tennessee to focus on gas SUVs instead.
