General Motors has overtaken Tesla to become Canada’s top electric vehicle (EV) seller in Q1 2025. GM’s EV sales surged by 252%, totaling 5,750 units, driven by models like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and Cadillac Optiq. In contrast, Tesla’s registrations in Quebec plummeted by 90%, partly due to the suspension of federal and provincial EV incentives and shifting consumer preferences.
