Australia has nearly run out of used EVs for sale because soaring petrol prices and the 2026 fuel crisis triggered a huge rush into second-hand electric cars. Used EV sales more than doubled in March while the number of listed vehicles fell 38%, leaving barely four weeks of supply and pushing prices higher for models like the Tesla Model Y, Model 3 and MG4.
